This isn’t typically a phrase
you hear in the discussion of
a dental practice sale, but
it is how Dr. Jack Longmire
describes the transition of his
practice to Dr. James Green.
While Dr. Longmire always
knew he would eventually
transition his oral surgery practice to long-time family friend
and one-time associate, Dr. Green, what he didn’t know
was how to execute all of the nuances of the valuation,
the sales contract and numerous legal details that such a
transition would entail. Thankfully, after one meeting with
Greg Auerbach, he was assured those details would be
handled flawlessly.
On the advice of a colleague, a call to ADS Florida,
now a division of Henry Schein Professional Practice
Transitions, was the first call Dr. Longmire made. After
speaking with Greg, Dr. Longmire knew he had no reason
to look elsewhere for a transition specialist. “When I first

we needed.” Greg walked Dr. Longmire and Dr. Green
through the sometimes arduous process of everything from a practice valuation, to assessing financing options for the purchaser and finalizing the sale.
Dr. Longmire continues to practice three days a week,
and his patients are warmly welcomed into an office
where the quality of care that he established in 1987
continues to be embodied today by both himself and Dr.
Green. The change in ownership was smooth, seamless,
and most importantly, beneficial to both doctors and their
patients. Reflecting on the entire process, Dr. Longmire is
confident much of this success is due to his transition team.
